What is a Comprehensive Postural Assessment, and how is my approach different?

A Posture and joints movement assessment evaluates body alignment and movement patterns to identify any imbalances or misalignments in how you stand, sit, or move. This helps determine whether your joints and bones are aligned properly and have the necessary mechanics to function well in isolation and as part of your whole body structure.

My Holistic Comprehensive Postural Assessment (HCPA) combines traditional Postural Audit based on your postural photos with joint range of movement measurements (based on biomechanics) to determine deeper restrictions in our body (compression). Moreover, I use neuroscience approach to posture checking sensory organs: eyes, jaw (tongue posture) and feet grounding.  This gives us comprehensive overview of body’s coping strategies aka compensations.

The HCPA is 120 minutes long and includes:

  1. Health & Lifestyle Questionnaire (offline)
    This form helps me understand your condition and body needs, though it’s optional but essential for design of a tailored program. It will be emailed to you after your purchase together with my diary to book your assessment.
  2. Posture Audit
    I will ask you to take photos of your whole body head to toe and email it to me not later than 48 hours before our session. You will receive instructions how to take good photos. I will then asses your posture offline and during our session we go through the findings.
  3. Joint range of movement measurements
    In our interactive session I guide you to move parts of your body in certain direction to determine range of movement of your shoulders, hips, pelvis and legs. We also check your eye vergence, jaw tension and foot posture.  This is important data that will clearly show us compressed areas of your body and hence what must be addressed first to be able to progress.
  4. Q/A – I will explain all ‘readings’ and answer all your questions.
  5. Follow up – You might feel overwhelmed with the amount of information during your assessment so we schedule 30 minutes follow up to go through your questions and my recommendations. You will get a recording which you can rewatch and write questions for the follow up session.

Once your payment is processed, I will email you within 48 hours with a Health & Lifestyle Questionnaire and a guide on how to take four good postural photos.

After I receive all the necessary information, you will receive my calendar to book the 1:1 assessment.

Booking requirements:

  • All sessions are held on Zoom. Download Zoom here: https://zoom.us/download 
  • Check your email: you will be emailed a Zoom link and reminders and ask to confirm your attendance.
  • Please join from your laptop rather than phone so I can clearly see your whole body and joints.
  • Wear top and shorts of different colours. Tight fit top is better.

Booking policy:

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • 24-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule any appointment.
  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable.
  • Sessions can be rescheduled once without charge. Additional rescheduling requests may incur an admin fee.

Attendance & Late Policy

  • If you are late to your session, it will be shortened accordingly.
  • If you are more than 10 minutes late without notification, the session will be forfeited and non-refundable.

Refund Policy

  • Due to the personalized nature, refunds are not available once the offline assessment process started.
  • If you are unable to continue due to medical reasons or bereavement, a partial credit or pausing of the service may be considered upon receipt of your written request – bonnie@bonnieryckova.com
